ROOFING PROCESS

OUR ROOFING PROCESS

Replacing part or all of your home’s roof is an important job and one that requires expertise, care, and communication. Throughout the entire roofing process, we are committed to keep an open line of communication with you. Here is an example of a residential re-roofing process to help you understand what you can expect and to possibly answer questions you may have. We strive to set the standard in residential and commercial roofing across Orange County, San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles and Southern California communities. See all of our roofing services here.

Delivery, Tear-Off, and Removal

Delivery, Tear-Off, and Removal

Once your roofing project has been assessed, and your desires are determined, we can begin the re-roofing process.  On the first day of construction, materials will be delivered, and a Crank team member will ensure they are placed or moved to an appropriate space on your property.  Our roofing crew will also begin removing and disposing of your old roof material down to the plywood substrate. We then thoroughly repair/replace any sections of the plywood that may be rotted or damaged to make sure your roof’s foundation is completely secure, resulting in the longest possible life of your new roof.

Roofing Installation

Roofing Installation – Underlayment

After we have removed old roofing material and completed any necessary plywood repair, we then begin to install your new roof by first laying down new felt paper. We also seal around any penetrations such as vents, pipes and chimneys to ensure your roof is water-tight!

Roofing Installation – Shingles

After installing new felt and sealing penetrations, we are ready to install shingles. Whatever you have chosen for your Southern California roof material, whether it is clay or concrete tiles, composite asphalt shingles, metal roofing, slate, wood shingles or shakes, we have you covered! The Crank crew meticulously installs every shingle to ensure your new roof is built to last. As a finishing touch, we can also pain the vents and pipes to match the color of your new roof to give it a nice clean and complete look.

Final Inspection and Cleanup

Final Inspection and Cleanup

Once installment of your new, beautiful, water-tight roof is complete, we conduct a final inspection of the roof and the surrounding property to make sure we don’t leave behind fallen material such as nails and shingle fragments. We will, however, leave excess tiles with you should you need them years down the road if someone happens to damage part of your roof. Once we are sure that you are completely satisfied, we mark the project completed, and we leave you to enjoy the look and security of your new Crank roof.
