Look on Yelp

Like any other contractor, there are good and bad deck contractors. Read Yelp! reviews and pay attention to those that mention the problem of deck leaks. Like this one.

Notice a few things.

The review is current (within the last year).
It refers to people by name.
The review describes the problem and the solution.

Most importantly the review tells you the problem resolution.

If you have a deck leak and need repair, it’s nice to read the reviews about waterproofing and concrete resurfacing systems, but what you really want to read are reviews about repairing deck leaks. And Paul from Thousand Oaks is on Yelp to tell you he had a positive experience with Crank Waterproofing.

Now Donna’s review is a little older, but it provides important information. From this review you know that:

Crank Waterproofing deck repair crews are neat
Crew members are courteous and work diligently
The repairs were performed on time and budget despite setbacks due to rain.

You notice that Donna mentions a name that Paul did not. This shows a pattern of good people working for a good company.

You can use the same process with Google Reviews as you do with Yelp reviews. Just look for deck leak repair reviews.
